This is a new enrolment feature that allows the admin to do all the ”boring” stuff before handing the device over to the user.

Basic configuration, such as scaning the QR code, enrolling the device to Intune and installing targeted apps can be prepared.

First, create the enrolment profile and the QR code token:

  1. Login into Intune

  2. Go to Devices -Android - Android enrolment -Corporateowned, fully managed user devices

  3. On the Corporate-owned, fully managed user devices blade, click Create profile

  4. On the Basics page, you need to type a few things: (Example)

  • Name: Android Stagning

  • Description: (Optional)

  • Token type: Select Corporate-owned, fully managed, via staging to create an enrollment profile for staging devices

  • Token expiration date: Select for how long the token will be valid

Factory reset a test device and when it starts up:

  1. Press on Start screen five times

  2. Select language and then the camera will activate.

  3. Use the camera to scan the QR code.

Then it is just a matter of following the on-screen instructions until the home screen is visable and you can see that the WOrkProfile has been created. *Note when prompted to sign in with a private Google Account is dispalyed, simply press the back button (<) to get past that screen. This is not something the admin should do, the user will login to Google Play not the admin.

The user needs to :

  1. Start the device

  2. Open the Work profile

  3. Open the Intune app

  4. Login with the corporate credentials

  5. Select Register

  6. Select Next

  7. Select Done

When completed, the user will become the primary user and the device name in Intune will change from the temporary device name Stageing3_xxxxxxxx to the standard device name format Username_androiEnterprise_date_time format

Go 4 it ! 😊
